Project Overview
- anoda is a platform created to centralize and organize high-quality UX content in Hebrew, making it accessible and reliable for UX people.
- Founded by Omer Aviram and me, we led the project from concept to launch, covering research, design, and development.
- anoda consolidates articles, podcasts, videos, and tools across various UX topics, including research, design, portfolios, and more.
Tools We Use
anoda’s Goals
- Our goal is to deliver accessible, relevant content that helps UX people stay informed, expand their knowledge, and continuously grow.
- anoda (from Greek: ανοδα, meaning "to rise") reflects our mission: to help UX people in Israel grow and advance in their career on the UX field.
The Idea
Omer and I met during our UX studies at college and worked together on successful projects. We wanted to use our skills to solve a real problem in the field. So we started brainstorming: What gaps in UX can we address?
Problem Statement
In conversations with UX people, we identified a common challenge: accessing organized, reliable information. The vast amount of UX content is scattered across various platforms, making it difficult for them to navigate and find relevant resources efficiently.
This led us to the idea: a platform that centralizes articles, videos, podcasts, and tools, mostly in Hebrew, to help juniors(at first place) easily access and stay updated in the UX field.
Research Process
Key Questions
- How do users search for content?
- What sources do they trust?
anoda is built on comprehensive research, including user studies, competitor analysis, expert interviews, and surveys with UX people at all levels.
We began with an exploratory research that provided insights into the motivations, aspirations, and challenges of our target audience.
- Quantitative: Survey, distributed to over 144 UX people.
- Qualitative: In-depth interviews with 18 users and industry experts.
What did our users said?
"It feels like there's so much to learn, especially when you're just starting out. It can be overwhelming to navigate through all the information."
“A lot of valuable information is scattered across different sources. Finding what you need often feels like piecing together a puzzle, and not all of it is easily accessible in one organized place.”
"Most of the time, I have to sift through a vast amount of content just to extract the pieces that are relevant and accurate for my needs. It’s a challenge to find the right information without getting lost in the noise.”
Main Pain Points
- The abundance of unstructured content makes it difficult, especially for beginners, to find reliable resources efficiently.
- Feeling isolated without access to a supportive community for continuous learning and guidance.
- Navigating and filtering the vast pool of UX content is challenging, compounded by information overload, imposter syndrome, and confusing terminology.
Key Insights
Survey data (144 responses, 18 interviews) highlighted respondents' focus on expanding knowledge and advancing careers. These insights shaped the project’s direction:
- Motivations: staying updated, career growth, community involvement.
- Need for curated, accessible learning content.
- Interest in UX methods and processes.
- Existing Platforms & Gaps: There are many excellent Israeli websites offering UX content, but the content is often scattered and doesn't fully address the diverse needs of both junior and experienced professionals.
- anoda's Value: anoda serves as a primary filter for high-quality, reliable UX content, curating top resources from Israeli and global platforms. This helps users easily navigate and find relevant information tailored to their needs.
Expert’s Feedback
We showed anoda to receive feedback from industry leaders, that led us to:
- Expand anoda beyond juniors based on demand.
- Ideas for business models and continuous improvement emerged.
- Collaborate with UX experts and Design communities in IL to spread out anoda.
